Autoimmune Disorders
People with an autoimmune disorder can benefit greatly from MLD sessions. Having an autoimmune disorder typically means your lymphatic system is dysfunctional as the autoimmune disorder attacks the immune system. This causes an excess of lymph fluid to build locally, and potentially throughout the entire body – ie, chronic inflammation. Over time, inflammation effects the body in various ways as it causes the lymphatic system to backup, or become sluggish. MLD is effective in helping manage inflammation as we manually pump the lymph nodes to help the body naturally detox by removing lymph fluid and inflammatory cells from inflamed tissue. A sluggish lymphatic system can exacerbate inflammation symptoms. MLD helps to improve the lymphatic function to reduce tissue inflammation, which reduces symptoms of an autoimmune disorder.
Manual therapies, such as the Vodder Method of MLD, have been relied on for many centuries and are still the most trusted way of improving lymphatic flow in diseases. Many people find comfort in MLD as an alternative therapy and find their symptoms are alleviated. After all, MLD engages the parasympathetic system – the body’s rest & digest state – making people more relaxed physically and mentally, which the benefits the entire body overall!
Inflammation in the body causes swelling, bruising, joint pain & stiffness, itching, skin changes/skin rashes and redness. MLD reduces symptoms of autoimmune disorders by improving lymphatic flow which can help reduce the duration and/or magnitude of ongoing autoimmune responses.
