About Me

A personal note…

My mother taught me good skin care in the 70’s/80’s and I’ve stuck to it...

the healthy skin I enjoy now is all because of her! “Wear sunscreen! Get your hands off your face! and Go put on lotion!” were a constant with my mother.

I have professional mentors...

allowing people with your best interest to pour into your life is invaluable. I am blessed to have Wendy Ruggiero and Catharina Pehrson – I respect and listen to these women. Their knowledge, passion and willingness has been key to my ever- growing passion as a Massage Therapist and Facialist.

Weather dictates my days and my skincare!

I love to be outdoors! I apply plenty of SPF and hydrate constantly. Afterwards, I am home applying masques, facial oils and moisturizing to top off a day of outdoors!

I believe education is essential...

learning is the only way we can truly grow in life – intentionally or unintentionally. I am definitely a student of not only subjects, but life itself. I am a sponge, soaking up all the knowledge I can!

I love life and the God of life...

I am learning the true meaning of peace. Don’t be rattled. Survive everything… and do so with God.

Life is an Extraordinary Journey!

Doceō, pronounced /do.ke.ō/, is Latin meaning “l teach.” I chose this as my business name as it fits me perfectly. My heart is behind what I do to teach, to educate, others on the principles, insights and value of skincare. The understanding of “how” and “why” often increases one’s willingness to do. I want to equip others with the information necessary to make informed decisions for how best to care for themselves. – Doceō Skincare

With over 10 years of experience in the spa industry, I focus primarily on the health and well-being of my clients. Proper bodywork and skin care enable men and women to enjoy their passions in life in the midst of constant environmental stressors. Over the years, I have concentrated on learning techniques and therapies from around the world to aid in the health of the body. Our skin is the body’s first line of defense against disease and infection. Flexibility and mobility of muscles allow us to do the things we enjoy. Regular facials and massages are important, but I also believe in teaching clients how to make their facials and massages last longer than just in the treatment room.

My practice is based on the Fitzpatrick Scale which is used to determine the best products, treatments and technology for your skin, face and body. Educating clients in skincare is essential in achieving the best results possible. Understanding a client’s lifestyle is also important as I plan optimal face and body care for each client. Along with this knowledge, I combine the use products with ingredients which promote the health of skin in facials, body treatments and massage.

As a Certified Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapist (CMLDT), I am trained in the Vodder techniques which are gentle, pressure on/pressure off movements which mimic the rhythm and flow of the body’s natural lymphatic system. MLD objective is to support the immune response into a more natural state in the general detoxing of tissue and possible immunity enhancement. I believe the best way to support the overall health of the skin is to start within. Along with lymphatic massage, I incorporate these techniques into my facials.

Combining it all – I love what I do! As a Facialist, using both Eastern and Western techniques, modern technology and effective products, I am able to address personal skincare needs, concerns and goals with clients. My approach is results driven which is why I offer inclusive treatments, enabling me to be effective with each session. As a Licensed Massage Therapist, my massages are customized specifically for each client based on their current need and goals. I strive to give an effective massage allowing you to experience the therapeutic benefits desired.
