We have all been there – buying product awaiting a big promise of perfection or tempted by the latest trend. Regardless of why purchased, the question is, “Now what?” Ladies come to me time after time wanting to re-work/re-plan their skin care regiment. As we work through their current skin care arsenal, determining what worked and/or what did not work for them, we are left with deciding what to do with both wanted and unwanted product. Here are my top tips!

Tip #1

Do not hoard product… use it! The longer it sits, the less effective it will become. Waiting for the perfect moment? Having great skin IS the perfect moment – get to using your products!

Tip #2

If expired? Toss. Let it go. Do not talk down to yourself saying, “I wasted it/money.” Rather, ask yourself why? Understanding why you did not use it in the first place allows you to grow and understand yourself more, making it less likely for you to do again.

Tip #3

A product you did not like or it did not seem to work, but you do not want to waste it? Use it somewhere else on your body! For example: moisturizer – use it as a lotion! Serum – use it on hands, elbows, or feet! Simply re-purpose for another part of your body.

Tip #4

You love it all, but are unsure of product regiment/order of use? Or maybe even should you use it? Let me give you a general guideline:

  • Cleanse
  • Tone
  • Eye cream
  • Serum
  • Moisturizer
  • SPF

Multiple serums? Apply thinnest to thickest, giving each application a minute or two to absorb into the skin.
